Wang Yuelong, Senior Partner of Shanghai K-Insight Law Firm, graduated from East China University of Political Science and Law in 1984, with a Master's degree in Law, majoring in Civil and Commercial Law.

Mr. Wang works in the Teaching Group of Civil and Commercial Law of the Law School, East China University of Political Science and Law, and is a professor of Civil Law and master supervisor. He obtained the license to practice law in 1991, and later, he works as both a teacher and a lawyer. During his more than 20 years of practice, he has handled nearly 1,000 civil and economic litigation and non-litigation cases, covering all civil and commercial areas. In particular, he has a deep understanding of contract law, corporate law, real estate law, property law, and tort law. Main Cases Handled

1. Hangzhou Zhangxiaoquan Scissors Co.,Ltd. v. Shanghai Zhangxiaoquan Scissors Store and Zhangxiaoquan Scissors Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (a case of disputes over the well-known trademark). Hangzhou Zhangxiaoquan Scissors Co.,Ltd. owned the well-known trademark “Zhangxiaoquan” and required the Shanghai party to change its name. Later, this case was submitted to the Supreme People’s Court, which judged that the claim was not supported. This case was selected as one of the cases announced by the Supreme People's Court.

2. Shanghai Jianguo Holiday Village Co., Ltd. v. Shanghai Material Trading Co., Ltd. (a case of disputes over equity). In this case, the dispute over the identity cognizance of shareholders was triggered by the failure of the shareholders to handle industrial and commercial registration after their investment, making the case the first example of the Shanghai High People's Court to address the criteria for determining the equity of a company.

3. Equity transfer case (non-litigation) of Shanghai Pudong New Area Water Supply Co., Ltd. This case is the first example of introducing foreign capital to establish a joint venture in the field of public utilities in China. All documents produced by our firm, such as bidding, tender evaluation and contract content, are used as a model in this field.

4. Shanghai Wenren Entertainment Co., Ltd. v. Shanghai General Electronics (GROUP) Co., Ltd. (a case of disputes over the construction caused by the reconstruction of an old factory building, with a subject amount of nearly RMB100 million). The case was mainly about the legality of the reconstruction of the plant developed by the two parties, which party should bear the construction costs, and whether the quality of the work was satisfactory. The case was finally settled by mediation between the parties.

5. Shanghai Pudong New Area Water Jiangshan Land Co., Ltd. acquired the right to develop the No. 10 Lot in Pudong, Shanghai by accepting an equity interest in the project. During the development process, many issues arose due to old issues, such as whether there were changes in the area of the land development, reapplication for changes in the original architectural design, and payment for goods and works left over from the original building development. Through a series of litigation and non-litigation activities, the project is now a high-end villa area in Pudong.

6. China Pacific Insurance Co., Ltd. Xi’an Branch v. XXX Company (a case of disputes over insurance). This case is the first dispute arising after the development of guarantee insurance in China's insurance industry, involving the connection between the guarantee relationship and the insurance relationship, which will serve as a guide for similar cases in the future. 

7. The case of disregard of the corporate personality of Great Wall BroadBand Network Service Co., Ltd.. After the introduction of provision on the abuse of corporate personality in the Company Law, the provision is used in Shanghai for the first time in a trial involving extensive evidence to establish the use of corporate personality.

8. Ningbo Ruyi Joint Stock Co., Ltd. v. its German partner (a case of disputes over joint venture). The case involved the vesting of the land contributed by the Chinese party after the expiration of the joint venture company. The definition of corporate capital became the focus of the case.

9. Italy TWTT v. a foreign trade company (a case of disputes over equipment purchase). The case involves the responsibility of the foreign trade agent and the user of the equipment, as well as how to identify the receiving and acceptance of the equipment, which is of great significance in theory.

10. Shanghai Construction Group v. a company under China Eastern (a case of disputes arising from joint development in the form of the purchase of houses against construction cost). The case was mainly about whether the form of set-off with payment for goods was performable and whether it was the only way to set off the debt. After the first instance, the second instance and the retrial, Shanghai Construction Group finally won the case.
